By The Grace of God

Mama wrote this story so Tromson will always remember that God is with him and has done great things in his life.

Tromson was never the sporty type. Given the choice between exercising or watching TV, he would always choose the latter.

In his CCA, he only switched to volleyball in Primary 5, and he had never been part of the school team.

But one day in January this year, Mama received a WhatsApp message from his coach. The coach said he wanted Tromson to join the school team and asked for our permission to train him twice a week and even in the mornings before school.

We were quite surprised, but we agreed — thinking it would simply be a good chance for him to exercise, without any big expectations.

That decision turned out to change his life.

Even though he only sat on the bench during NSG, he was still officially part of the QIFA volleyball team. And because of that, he became eligible for DSA.

Long story short, Tromson was selected for trials and interviews at three schools, all well-known for their volleyball programs. This week, the results came in: he got one “waiting list” and  “confirmed” offers.

Even though his dream school only put him on the waiting list, there is still hope.

Mama reminded him that all of this is purely by God’s grace. If he gets into the school he really wants, it will be nothing short of a miracle — because we have no control over the outcome.

What I want Tromson to always remember is this: everything he has achieved so far is not just his own effort, but truly by the grace of God.

Happy Blessed Easter 2025 !

This year’s Easter feels extra special, as all the boys at home—including the kids and papa—were actively serving in church from Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, all the way through to Easter Sunday and this was the first Easter for Ted to serve.

They poured their hearts into every preparation, making countless trips to and from the church—especially our firstborn, who showed remarkable dedication.

Witnessing this has filled our hearts with overwhelming gratitude. We’re reminded that the greatest gift we can pass on to our children isn’t material wealth, but a legacy of faith.

Material things come and go, but faith endures. It provides a strong foundation, especially when life doesn’t go as planned.

It’s not about what we’ve done right as parents—it’s purely by God’s grace that their hearts have been touched to love their Creator above all else.

We may not know what the future holds for our boys, but one thing is certain: as long as they walk in the right path, they will find true fulfillment in life.

While I’m still navigating the early challenges of my new business venture, seeing their faith grow brings me deep comfort and joy.

We kept our Easter celebration simple—sharing Vietnamese food and Fong Seng nasi lemak during the Easter Vigil, and enjoying Easter lunch at Milan Shokudo.

First and Life Time Experience at Papal's mass

Last Thursday, September 12, 2024, was a truly memorable day for our family.

By God's grace, we had the incredible privilege of attending the Papal Mass. Papa and koko Richie even had the honor of serving during the Mass—papa as a Communion Minister and kook Richie as an Altar Server.

Being just a few meters away from the Pope, especially witnessing him bless the little children and people with disabilities, was an emotional experience for me. I couldn't hold back my tears.

I felt the profound, unconditional love of God and witnessed the essence of what humanity truly needs.

Attending the Papal Mass felt like a glimpse of Heaven, with God on His throne, surrounded by Angels and Saints, while the rest of us worshipped Him. In that moment, there was no judgment based on race or worldly success; we were all equal in God's eyes.

Though we couldn't choose our seats, we embraced our place with deep gratitude.

Much like in Jesus' time, people came for various reasons—to see the Pope up close, some for selfies to share on social media, others to experience God's love more intimately. Only God truly knows each person's heart.

For my family and me, while we did hope to capture a close-up picture with the Pope as a keepsake, the real gift was the love and joy we experienced there.

One key message that we will always remember is:

"Without love, all are nothing."

Serving PD KKIHS Adoration

This is Tromson's first time attending PD KKIHS and serving as altar boy during Blessed Sacrament Adoration.

He attended patiently even though he's very sleepy as it's during his nap time but he made it.

Mama and papa are very proud of him.

Serving Indo mass

Last Sunday, Tromson and koko Richie served two masses in a day. Morning English mass at Holy Cross and Afternoon Indo mass at Our Lady of Lourdes.

The celebrant for Indo mass is Rm Sheko who is our spiritual guide during our pilgrimage trip to Holy Land

Weekly Dose watching Saints movie

Mama has a dream to bring the children and opa oma for pilgrimage in Europe, she prepared us by watching the story of Saints every Sunday evening.

It's something that we are looking forward as a family, the movie is very short around 30 mins max but we love it.

Sacrament of Ordination

Usually we attended Sacrament of Marriage, this month we attended Sacrament of Ordination which is very rare moment. We witnessed the deacon in our parish ordinated as a priest.

It's a very touching moments to see all the priests gather around and blessed one another. I really admire their parents who are successful to bring their children's faith in the high level to put God first above everything else.

We attended the mass as a family with the rest of altar boys.

We met some familiar faces of the priests including our ME spiritual guide Fr. Gerard.

Hopefully this event inspires one or two or three of our boys.

First time serving as Altar Boy

Today is the first advent and his first time serving as an altar boy. He's doing great even though he's very nervous. He's not used to sit in front of the big audience and everyone is looking at him.

Nevertheless, good job Tromson for conquering your anxiety and thank you for koko Richie who's there with you.
